Victor Wahby, MD, Ph.D.
Music Director

Dr. Wahby is a Renaissance man: physician, musician, scientist, poet, and conductor. Educated in both medicine and music, he studied conducting with Joseph El-Sissi, the Vienna-trained conductor of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra.
During his tenure at the Mayo Clinic he conducted the Mayo Medical Chorale and Orchestra, and while on the Yale Medical School faculty he conducted the Yale Medical Musical Group, the forerunner of the current national group he founded.
The Washington Post praised Dr. Wahby for his "sincere interpretations of music."
Dr. Wahby and VA-National Medical Musical Group were honored by a Congressional Tribute offered by Congressman Tom Lantos (D-CA) on the Floor of the US House of Representatives on June 12, 2002 (http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getpage.cgi?position=all&page=E1037&dbname=2002_record). Dr. Wahby is Director of Special Projects for the Veterans Health Administration in Washington, DC, and the producer of VATV, a health education show for veterans (http://www1.va.gov/health_benefits/page.cfm?pg=27).
